Now What?
By now you probably have a headache. Each of these majors has so much going for it ... and they are all so important and intertwined. What to do? What to do?
Sure, Marketing is sexy and you want to make more sales -- a LOT more sales. Volume hides a multitude of sins, right?
You have always felt that you were just a few thousand dollars a week short of really turning the corner financially ... and Kamron has some killer ideas on how to bump up those sales. You can see yourself raking in the cash, making pizzas as fast as you can all day and night, opening new stores, finally taking that Italian vacation ...
But Dave has a point. If you aren't making much money on what you are doing right now, you certainly don't want to do a lot more of it.
Maybe the answer is to get your act together first. Yeah, that's it -- start with Operations. Put those control systems in place and squeeze the most cash out of the volume you already have. Who knows? If you tightened things up, you might get that bottom line increase without having to do any more sales at all.
Still, you can't fault Bill's contention that none of this matters unless you've created an organization that will give your customers a great time every time they do business with you. Maybe you should improve your Leadership skills first.
A dysfunctional organization couldn't effectively implement anything ... and the "people part" of the business has been the biggest energy drain anyway. It would sure be nice to get a handle on that. If you could just see how to get your crew to do what they are supposed to do ... if you could just get back your old passion for coming to work ... if you could just smooth things out at home ...
So many choices. So little time. What to do?
The answer, of course, is obvious:
Bring All Your Key Players to the SuperCOnference
Remember that each School will show you how to achieve our profitability promise working from a different direction. Your key staff members will have to learn this material sooner or later. Do you honestly think you can go back and teach it to them? Save some time ... and make some points. Just bring them now!
With a promise this good -- and the ability to build your bottom line from three different directions at once -- who knows how much you could bump up the cash in your pocket?
One person can't take all three majors anyway. If you are serious about making money, you can't afford to leave your key players at home. Besides, you will never be able to effectively pass along everything we will talk about during the SuperConference ... and it is THEIR understanding that will free up YOUR time.
There is no substitute for being in the room. Bring 'em!
(A note to the little guy: If there ARE no other key employees that you can break loose, all the implementation work will fall to you anyway. Pick the area where you need the most work and focus there. Only there. Take the profit increase ... and come back next year to work on another area.)
The Care and Feeding of the Goose That Lays Golden Eggs
While you are planning, why not take a few extra days for yourself and make it a (tax deductible) mini-vacation before the holiday madness overwhelms you? Let the grandparents watch the kids for a few days. You know that you deserve a adult-level break.
Call it research. There are some amazing restaurants to see in Las Vegas, the sun is bright, the golf courses await and perhaps a blackjack table is calling your name. Remember: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
